Atopy is very similar to contact dog allergies in the fact that your pet becomes irritated by harmless external substances. The difference is that Atopy is caused by airborne irritants. It can be very hard to keep your dog away from many of these irritants because they are airborne and can be found almost everywhere. Food dog allergies are caused by an allergic reaction to certain ingredients found in your pets dog food. This is another easily remedied dog food allergy. You need only try different brand of dog food and if need be a hypoallergenic brand.
